To make a deposit, press the Pay button (lower left on middle screen). Press the Deposit button (middle/lower screen). If you have deposit amount set in product pricing, screen will default to Pre-Auth when you select pay.
Select the Deposit Type. If Credit Card press the Process button then follow prompts on credit card device. There is a setting in Admin>Current Site>Credit Card Terminals>Select Device>check Sign Pre-Auth, if want customer sign the receipt. You can also tale Cash or ID Deposit.
