To create a Promo code Go to the Products List and press New in the top right hand corner, this will take you to the new product screen.
There are five things you must do before saving
- Enter Promo Code into the name field.
- Change the Product Type to Coupon
- On the Right hand side of the screen check the Online Visibility box. The product only has to be visible to the online reservation system. There is no need to check the other boxes.
- Change the Tax Group field to No Tax. If you do not have a tax free option you will have to create one in Taxes.
- The most important section is the SKU field. This is where you set the promo code that the customers type in at check out. So what ever the promo code will be goes in SKU.
After these are set Press Save in the top right hand corner.
After you save go to the Pricing tab, this is were you enter the discount amount.
First select the Coupon Type from the drop down and press Add New in the to right hand corner of the screen.
This will bring up a box where you can select where the discount is a Flat rate or Percentage and set the discount amount. When this is set up to what you want press Save.
Finally you will have to set the Coupon Categories, this setting decides what products this coupon will be applied to. Moving a Category from the left field to the right applies the coupon do the products in that Category. After making all changes make sure to press Save in the top right hand corner of the screen.
